1. Add 3% – 8% waste porcelain chips (more than 20% can be added in a long time) to the mud to replace some raw ore, aluminum powder and quartz, which can save raw material costs.
2. The waste porcelain is sintered, so it needs less heat in the firing process, so it can also save fuel costs.
3. The waste porcelain contains mullite, which acts as a crystal nucleus in the green body. When firing, mullite is easier to form, so the porcelain with waste porcelain is more containing than the porcelain without waste porcelain. More mullite, so the strength of the porcelain with waste porcelain pieces is increased, and the thermal stability of the porcelain is also improved; the waste porcelain pieces themselves contain very little gas, correspondingly increasing the density of the porcelain, and also improving the porcelain strength.
4. The waste porcelain pieces are fired at high temperature, the physical and chemical reactions of each component are relatively thorough, the gas content is very small, and there is no organic matter, so the content of organic matter and gas in the billet is reduced, thereby reducing the pinholes on the glaze surface and Glaze bubble defect.
5. The porcelain in the south is blue in white, but sometimes the blue color is too strong, giving people a feeling that the porcelain is black and not white enough. Introducing a certain amount of waste porcelain pieces into the mud can solve this problem. As the amount of clay increases, the blue color of the porcelain becomes lighter, even milky white, and introducing an appropriate amount of high-grade waste porcelain pieces into some low-grade mud is also beneficial to the improvement of the whiteness of the porcelain and the change of the color tone.
6. The various reactions between the components in the waste porcelain are relatively thorough, so its activity is poor, and the reaction between the waste porcelain and other materials is relatively slow, thereby reducing the amount of liquid phase in the billet, so the firing deformation of porcelain is reduced
7. Adding an appropriate amount of waste porcelain powder during grouting will help improve the fluidity of the grouting mud, thereby improving the quality of the grouting product.
8. Adding an appropriate amount of waste porcelain chips with high whiteness to ceramics with low whiteness such as exterior wall tiles, stoneware, and interior wall tiles can not only improve the whiteness of ceramics, but also obtain better density, reduce water absorption, and prevent ceramics late cracking and reduce firing deformation.
